Love Shack

I am so excited to share today’s project with you. I just finished up my latest Tim Holtz Village House – just in time for Valentine’s Day. Introducing the Love Shack, queue the B-52’s! If you are too young for that reference look-up Love Shack by the B-52s, it is a fantastic song.

I used the Tim Holtz Village Dwelling for my base. The house and all of the parts were cut out using heavy white cardstock. The roof, window frames,

and the porch are from the Village Surf Shack  Die and the fence is from the Village Bungalow Die.

Gotta get back to the Love Shack

I started by inking the house with Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and then added the tiny hearts in Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries.

Ready for love?

I created the roof by using my Score-Board and adding the score marks, I was going for a tin roof look. I also used my stylus to add more depth.

Distress Ink, Tim Holtz dies and a handful of stamps

I made my chimney with the shape from the die but cut it down a little. I stenciled the stones on with my pink Distress Inks and then added another heart.

The roses were cut out using my Silhouette Cameo and colored with more Distress Ink and the base is Flower Soft in Raspberry Fizz. I just used my paper glue to add that to my fence line.

I used a tiny alphabet from Stampin’ Up to create the sign and added another heart. The only non-pink in the house is windows. I inked small pieces of cardstock with blue cardstock and then glued those in place. The door know is a tiny fastener (aka brad). My last step was to add Stickles to the hearts.

Base with the flowers and no house

The little roses just roll-up and glued in place. I added a little pink ink to the base.

This has totally inspired me to make another house for the next holiday. We’ll see if that happens but there are visions of an Irish Village House floating through my head.

  1. Oh my goodness! Cutest love shack EVER! (Not that I’ve seen that many love shacks, but if I had, this would still be my favorite)! I adore the way you thought to use the house die for Valentine’s and think this little house is stunning. It even looks good from the back! And those roses lining the fence are gorgeous. This made me want to whip out my own house die and be a little more creative with it. I might even throw some B-52’s on since I always like snappy music while I’m crafting! Great house, great song, great post. Thank you so much for sharing this awesomeness with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
