I am so absolutely in love with the Tim Holtz Village die. I was really trying to resist. It isn’t like I don’t have enough other projects and crafts around here. For all of my resisting, I am hooked. I started with the Village Dwelling Die and things just went from there. This is my very first dwelling and there will be more!! I used the Village Dwelling, Village Bell Tower, and Village Winter Dies to create this little church.
I started my creation before I watched the tutorial videos by Tim Holtz over on YouTube, and I would have made a few things differently. Having said that I am pretty happy with this little project and it was so much fun.
I inked my roof with Bundled Sage, Frayed Burlap, and Weather Wood Distress Inks and added Distress Stickles in Picket Fence for my snow and icicles. The white pieces were inked with Frayer Burlap. I think that next time I’ll do some siding.
I inked my windows with Frayed Burlap Ink and added a coat of Glossy Accents once they were in place. The stain glass was created with acetate and Alcohol Inks.
I added a little snow in my windows with Picket Fence Distress Stickles. The wreath is a pipe cleaner with embroidery floss. The base was covered with glitter adhesive and given a good application of Martha Stewart Glitter in Carara Marble. I did not adhere my church to the base so I can put a battery operated light in there.
I am really looking forward to adding more buildings to my village, I have a Pinterest Board going for these if you are looking for more ideas.
